We have a great need for passionate and resourceful volunteers to help make our school program and community outreach successful. We encourage a teaching and learning environment at Ellis, which extends to those looking to expand their knowledge through further degrees, certifications, or student teaching hours. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please take a few minutes to fill out the following survey and email Cristina at Charty@ellisschoolatlanta.org.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities:

July 9th -July 13th 2018

Camp ImpAACt

Skilled interns and volunteers needed! Each of our interns/volunteers are paired with a camper to help provide delivery of instruction that is adapted to their camper's individualized communication system. Interns/volunteers will also help facilitate access and participation in all activities, and work as part of team with other volunteers, licensed therapists, and teachers. You will join a team of other dedicated and passionate professionals to make a lasting impact on a child's life!

Some previous experience working with children or youth is required to serve as an intern or volunteer. Preference will be given to those who are studying or interested in a related field, such as Speech Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, Special Education, Physical/Occupational Therapy, or other child/therapy/education related majors. Interns should discuss their school requirements (if using their internship to meet major/credit requirements) with staff prior to camp. This is an unpaid internship.

Rhapsody in Brew

Volunteers are needed for our annual fundraising event, Rhapsody in Brew  located at the lovely Urban Tree Cidery in Mid-town. The  following volunteers positions are available:

  • Setting-up and breaking-down the event space including the silent auction
  • Checking-in guests and registering them for the silent auction
  • Helping guests bid during the silent auction and answering any questions about auction items

If you'd like more hands-on experience with fundraising, ask about joining the auction committee! The auction committee will have regular meetings before the event to: solicit auction items from businesses, strategize ways advertise the event, find and ask for sponsors, and coordinate event activities. Email Cristina at Charty@ellisschoolatlanta.org for more details.
