The Ellis School of Atlanta invites the community to join us for a discussion led by guest speaker, Vicki Clarke, on the real-world implementation of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices. This workshop provides an overview of topics including:

  • Defining appropriate individualized AAC goals
  • Analyzing the communication environment to match AAC goals to typical daily activities 
  • Understanding and assessing communicative competence in AAC, across all skill levels
  • Understanding and identifying candidates for AAC supports

Vicki Clarke SLP is the owner and president of Dynamic Therapy Associates and has been specializing in AAC since 1991. Dynamic Therapy Associates a family-focused, speech and occupational therapy practice with a specialty in augmentative communication (AAC) and other assistive technologies (AT). Her practice averages around 50 AAC evaluations a year providing innovative treatment options for clients of all ages. Vicki regularly attends and presents at local, state and national assistive technology conferences, speech language pathology conferences and family-focused meetings. She also consults for national and international AT service, equipment, and software manufacturers.
